USP White Petrolatum

USP-grade Petrolatum is a complex mixture of high-purity petroleum hydrocarbons (microcrystalline and macrocrystalline paraffins and mineral oils) that is moderately stringy in consistency. It appears as a semi-solid, unctuous, odorless, and colorless mass. It is practically insoluble in water, alcohol, and glycerin, but is soluble in toluene, chloroform, ether, hexane, and turpentine.

It can be used as an antistatic agent and emollient in cosmetic formulations for hair and skincare products, such as lotions, creams, and bath products. As it acts as an occlusive agent, it forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface. (CAS: 8009-03-08)
